It is the first city to host the Winter and Summer (2008) competition.

Women's Sloppy Style Snowboard Qualifiers, Women's Hockey and Men's Ski Jump Qualifiers highlight action in the United States (USA Network) on Friday night. And the first medals of the 2022 Olympics will be distributed on Saturday in Beijing, including cross-country skiing.
From 2:45 AM Eastern Standard Time, 65 women from 24 countries will compete in ski athletes. Ski Athlon is a 15km race, 7.5km is classic style cross-country skiing and the other half is freestyle.
Team USA will race four 2018 gold medalists, Jesse Diggins, Rosie Brennan, Hailey Wilbell and Julia Corn.
There are five more medal events on Saturday. Women's 3000m (long-distance speed skating), men's moguls (freestyle skiing), biathlon mixed relay, short track speed skating mixed relay, women's regular heel individual ski jump. The 2022 Beijing Games will have 109 medal events.
