Sania Mirza: Indian tennis star retiring after 2022 season, Former Wimbledon doubles champion Sania Mirza has announced that she is one of India's most famous sports stars and will retire from tennis after 2022.

Mirza's comments came after he lost in the first round of the women's doubles at the Australian Open, the report said.
"I've decided this will be my last season. I'm taking it every week. I don't know if I can continue the season, but I want to do it," he told reporters.
Mirza, 35, became the first Indian to win the WTA singles title in 2005.

However, the injury quickly forced him to focus on doubles. In 2015 he won the Swiss Martina Hingis and Wimbledon, followed by the Australian Open and the Australian Open.
